Job Title: Cake Decorator
Classification: Production
Reports Directly To: Cake Room Supervisor
Probationary Period: 60 days
Resignation Notice: 4 weeks
Minimum Hours of work expected weekly: 30-40, Must be available to work on Saturdays, no Sundays.
Job Objective:
Assist in the operation of the cake room and completion of all cakes; posses strong decorating and organization skills necessary to produce large quantities of cake quickly and efficiently. Maintain quality control and customer satisfaction
Essential Functions:
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Ability to use all production tools and supplies including mixers, Sweet Art Machine, airbrush, etc.; use of decorating bags and all tips to make flowers and balloons, borders, etc.
- Ability to adhere to health, sanitation and safety rules and procedures
- Availability to be scheduled during all major holidays and on all weekends
Job Duties:
- Coordinate and organize the set-up, decoration and finishing of cakes
- Complete orders in a timely fashion and according to order, maintaining good customer satisfaction
- Maintain cake cases, keep in good supply
- Help to maintain production and waste logs
- Aid customers for special orders; provide good customer service skills
- Maintain a positive attitude and good working relationship with all Sugar Plum Staff
- Maintain a good working relationship and good communication between departments
- Help to develop new cake ideas
Education/ Experience Requirements:
- Good artistic abilities and experience in free hand
- Good organizational and coordination skills
