Program Eligibility
Supported Employment is one of many effective ways to assist people with developmental disabilities in gaining and maintaining competitive employment.
– Individuals must have an intellectual or developmental disability
– Individuals must be 21 years or older
– Individuals must be referred by DARS (Department of Aging and Rehabilitative Services) or receive Waiver services for Building Independence Waiver (BI) , Family & Individual Waiver (FI), or Community Living waiver (CL)
– Sugar Plum Bakery has been CARF accredited in employment and community services since 2003.
“The golf tournament is the bakery’s only annual fundraising event; helping plan it every year helps make the mission possible. Seeing how Sugar Plum staff train individuals with developmental disabilities with job skills so they can get a job and gain more independence is wonderful.”
